Abel Munoz

PCS client, Abel Muñoz, was born July 30, 1965 in Mexico. Before being diagnosed with cancer, Abel worked 30+ years at IHOP in Goleta. He started as a dishwasher, moved up to a busboy and soon became shift supervisor. Abel was known for his dedication and outstanding work ethic. On January 2, 2017, Abel lost the battle to kidney cancer and peacefully died at home. Special thanks to HSB counselor Eliana, who worked closely with Abel's youngest daughter; and Lynn Rapp, nurse at Community Palliative Care, for her compassionate care of Abel. Also, a very heartfelt thanks to Jennifer and Israel from McDermott-Crocket & Associates for going above and beyond to support this family during such a difficult time. Abel's loving memory will be cherished by his wife and two daughters, Linette (18) and Delided (22). Abel was admitted to Patient Care Services in February 22, 2016. In my time working with Abel, I became very close to him and his family; they often referred to me as "mi niña"(my sweet girl) and "hija"(daughter). Abel touched many hearts and will always be remembered.
