Abraham Edward Bober

Abraham Edward Bober Mr. Abraham (Abe) E. Bober, 91, of Charlotte, NC, passed peacefully January 9, 2016. Born February 5, 1924 to the late Louis and Esther Bober of New Haven CT. He flew in the European Theater as an Air Force pilot in World War II and attended University of CT as a member of Tau Epsilon Phi. Post college, he was an engineer and chemist and went into real estate upon his retirement. Abe started a family with Bette Yanko in 1947. During his children"s early years, he was active in the Charlotte Swim Association supporting his son"s swimming ambitions. Abe was an active member of Temple Israel and Ohr HaTorah. He was a lifelong member of the Charlotte Bridge Association. Abe was a seasoned traveler, cruising the world. He is survived by his beautiful and loving wife of 69 years, Bette, a sibling, Alvin Bober, and his 3 children and their families: Barbara (Charles) Myers of Greensboro, Richard (Laurie) Bober of Greensboro and Deborah (James) Hamilton of Chicago. Also survived by grandchildren who were the light in his life: Adam and Rochelle Myers, Morgan and Elissa Bober, Ashley and Scott Hamilton and great grandson, Colin Jones. Services will be held at J.B. Tallent Funeral Services at 1 pm, Monday Jan. 11, followed by interment at the Hebrew Cemetery. Pall bearers are his "Thursday Lunch Group." The family thanks Drs. N.
