Aram Serverian went home to our Lord in the early hour of May 30, 2014. He was surrounded with his wife, Anne, relatives and a friend. Aram was married to Charlotte for 57 glorious years. Together they had three children, Lorraine (Paul) Belanger of Alexandria, VA, Russel (Kathy) Serverian of Tucson, AZ. Lorraine and Russell have a deceased brother, Raymond, of Flowers Mound, TX. Together, they have seven grandchildren, Aram, Corine, Raymond, Charlene, Lucas, Madeline and Mike. One great-granddaughter - Skyla. Aram's father was an Armenian from Turkey. He fought in WWI. His mother, with an arranged marriage, came from France. Many Armenians lived in France as well as the Turkish section of Turkey. He was very proud of his heritage. Aram had one sister, Aggie Stone who passed away. She had two sons and one daughter. Her son, Richie Stone, from Scottsdale had been very close to Aram for years and was there as Aram left this world, Aram accepted the Lord only the day prior to his passing. Aram was a very proud WWII veteran. He was a Submariner. Prior to being shipped out to the Pacific front in WWII, he was given a physical and told to report to the hospital. He had appendicitis. As devastated as he was, it perhaps saved his life. His surgery turned into peritonitis and he almost died. When he was released from the hospital three months later, WWII ended. During his time in the hospital, Yogi Berra was his roommate. As a result of his passion and knowledge of WWII, he and his present wife, Anne, have been on the board of Honor Flight Southern AZ. They, together, were very active until some health issues arrived. School was his top priority after the war. He graduated from Pace University and went to St. John's University Law School and received his law degree. Rather than pursuing his law degree as a lawyer, he started a court reporting business in New York. Charlotte worked with him for many years. He then changed careers and became an art dealer and owned Collectors Gallery. In their retired life Anne and Aram travelled, they would always check out art galleries along the way. Aram and Anne were married after the passing of each of their spouses. They have enjoyed travelling and in particular cruising. A month long trip was already scheduled. Neither could do any traveling since both of their spouses had serious health issues. Aram and Anne have been making up for lost time with travels, vegetable gardening and Bible study, not to mention soccer games and swim meets. Aram said he had been rejuvenated by his youngest grandsons, Jack and Alec, who he so enjoyed. They, too, learned how to blow straws and shoot spitballs as their older cousins had. Grandpa has left a real legacy and will be missed terribly. Ardemis (J.D. Martin) and Joe Keshishian are children of Anne. He has loved and cherished them as his own. Everyone will be better for knowing such a full of life and vibrant person as Aram. My, Aram, my love and my soul mate. You are my knight in shining armor and I will love you forever. Rest in peace, my love, you are going to make Heaven more lively.
