Adam Benoit
November 7th, 1988 - April 8th, 2006
"Adam Benoit, 17, of Kimberly Lane, was called to heaven on Saturday, April 8, as a result of an automobile accident. Born in Springfield, November 7, 1988, he was the son of Christine Robinson of South Hadley and Frederick Benoit of Wilbraham. Adam has lived in South Hadley from a young age, and was currently a junior at the high school. An avid sports fan, he played football for many years and was an avid 6th man for the varsity basketball team. He could often be seen with a painted face and body rooting his team on. He loved the Patriots and the Boston Red Sox and was prviledged to have attended many games with his family. An honor roll student, Adam recently scored in the top 7% in the country in math on his P.S.A.T. exam. His plan was to go to UMASS to become an engineer, following in his father's footsteps. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by his family and many good friends. Besides his parents his will be deeply missed by his brother Joseph at home, his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Patricia Robinson of Belchertown, his paternal grandmother, Barbara G. Reed of Ormond Beach, FL, along with his step mother Karen Benoit and his mom's boyfriend, Rob Heon. He also leaves his mother’s siblings, Michael Robinson and his wife Ann and their children Marie and John, of Chicopee, Steven Robinson and his daughter Carly of Northampton, Susan (Robinson) Valadas and her husband Daniel, with their children Isabella, Daniel, and Amelia of Ludlow, and James Robinson and his wife Lisa, and their daughter Kristie, of Chicopee, along with his father’s brother Raymond Benoit and his companion Marie Calanese, and stepbrothers Edward D’Amato, Tom Gormally, and a step sister Rebecca D’Amato, and niece Kloud D'Amato, all of Wilbraham. A Celebration of Life Service and video tribute will be Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story S. Hadley funeral Home, 646 Newton St., (Rte. 116). Friends may pay respects to the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m. A service will be held on Thursday, April 13, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church. Friends may gather at the funeral home by 9:00 a.m. or meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. For those wishing, the family asks that donations be made SOUTH HADLEY HIGH SCHOOL, WITH REFERENCE MADE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE FOOTBALL TEAM, NEWTON STREET, SOUTH HADLEY. "
