Adele "D'Vera Rachel" Ruth Shulman
November 24th, 1919 - October 20th, 2015
Adele Ruth Shulman, 95, of Stamford, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in Las Vegas. Adele was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. She was predeceased by her parents Miriam & Morris Weisberg, her brothers Sydney and Harold Weisberg and her son-in-law Richard Grisar. She is survived by her loving daughters, Barbara (Terry) Raben of Las Vegas, Suzanne (David) Jacobson of Houston, Texas & Ellen (Leo) Piilonen of Blacksburg, Virginia. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Michael (Cassie), Andrew, David and Marc (Robyn) Grisar, Sarah (Gabe) Evans, Rachel (Ari) Gold, Noah (Michali) Jacobson, Miriam and Eli Piilonen; She is also survived by her 8 great-grandchildren, Riley, Kameron, Emma & Ethan Grisar, Eliora, Emunah & Ayala Gold & Yonah Evans. Adele and her husband Kermit were both born and lived their entire lives in Stamford, CT. They met while she was registering to take a sewing class at Wright Technical School. Adele was retired from the Jewish Federation. She was chapter president of Stamford Hadassah followed by many years as secretary. She was the best typist and wasn't afraid to admit it. She was an excellent Canasta player. She was a member of Temple Beth El. She was known by those that loved her as Grammadele and she will be missed by her friends and family. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 22, at Temple Beth El, 350 Roxbury Road, Stamford. CT 06902. Burial following at Roxbury Cemetery. Family will sit shiva in Las Vegas Sunday, beginning at 2:00 PM through Tuesday, with minyan at 7 PM. Call Kraft-Sussman for location. Donations can be made to Midbar Kodesh Temple, the Jewish Family Service Agency or Hadassah or the charity of your choice.
