She was born March 5th, 1916 in Sturgeon Lake, Minnesota to Joseph and Mary {Zentkowski} Zasoski. She grew up in Sturgeon Lake, with her four brothers and four sisters during hard times; where she learned to share and help others. She was fourth youngest of nine children. She married Florian L. Pembleton on July 5th, 1937 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Moose Lake, Minnesota. They were married for 70 years.
