Aida Beylerian Goganian
February 8th, 1932 - July 10th, 2014
Aida Goganian (born Beylerian) passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in her sleep, leaving behind aloving family and many friends. Aida was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, sisterin-law, aunt and cousin to a large family originating in Alexandria and Cairo, Egypt. Aida was born inAlexandria, Egypt to Mardig and Marie Beylerian. She graduated from the American University of Cairo in 1950, and married Armenag Goganian in 1951. Their destiny was to move with their two young sons in1962 from Cairo to New York and Danielson (CT). In 1966, Aida and Armenag relocated their family to Los Angeles where they continued to live for nearly four decades. Aida spent her final years with Armenag enjoying family and friends in Portland, Oregon. Aida will be deeply missed by her family and vast circle of friends, including associates in crafts and fiber arts circles in Los Angeles and Portland. She was a generous woman with a passion for life and a special appreciation for art and music. Aida was a talented artist and craftsperson who created distinctive and beautiful weavings, fibers, jewelry andobjects of virtue. Aida leaves behind her loving husband Armenag Goganian (Portland, OR); son Levon Goganian and his fiancé Jacke Boston (Los Angeles, CA), son Achod Goganian and his wife Paige (Portland, OR); brother George (Garo) Beylerian and his wife Louise (New York, NY); grandchildren Aram and Aline Goganian and their mother Seza Ouzounian (Los Angeles, CA); granddaughter Eudora Goganian (Portland, OR); nephew Gregory Beylerian and his wife Judith and their daughter Lunabelle (Los Angeles, CA); niece Carina (Beylerian) Effenberger and her husband Craig Effenberger and their daughters Alexis and Julia (Palm Beach Gardens, Florida); nephew Levon Barzankian (London); and niece Alice Barzankian(Cyprus). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014, 11 AM at St. Peter Armenian Church, 632 W. Stocker St., Glendale, CA 91202. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Aida’s name to St. Peter Armenian Church. Service Information
