Alan Scott Gray May 8, 1944 - June 6, 2014 GRAY, Alan Scott, passed away on Friday, June 6th, 2014 in Tampa, Florida. Alan Scott had a lengthy illness with leukemia which lately spread to his lungs. He was transferred to Melech Hospice House from St. Joseph's Hospital on June 6th and peacefully passed away two hours later. The Lord sent us a sign to show he was at peace. Outside his window a red cardinal sat perched in the tree and a family of newborn ducklings gathered with their parents. Alan Scott was a friend to all and especially to those who shared his love. He was very generous with his time and talents. He helped many people and had many friends. He was always there to lend a hand or an ear. He was a very good listener and was fair to everyone. He was very smart and very kind. He was a Navy Veteran during the Vietnam Era. He worked for UPS for 17 years in the IT department. He was a member of NRA and American Legion. He was a member of St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church of Seffner. Alan Scott is survived by his wife, Victorina; children, Michelle Henderson, Heather McBratney, and Sean & Annalea Gray; step-children, Megan Tirey (Nathan Sr.) and Matthew Keener; grandchildren, Ashton Pepper, Alexandrya and Brianna McBratney, Victoria and Nathan Tirey Jr.; siblings, Carolyn Turner, Donald & Barbara Gray, and Terry Gray. Our Friend, Brother, Husband, Father, and Grandfather. A memorial mass will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church of Seffner. Interment at Florida National Cemetery with military honors will take place at a later date. Donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
