Alan Carl Smith

Alan Carl Smith, Jr., 63 of Prescott, AZ passed away after bravely battling Progressive Multiple Sclerosis for 11 years with incredible strength and with every fiber of his being with his wife by his side on August 7,2017. Alan was born to Alan and JoAnn Smith, Sr., in Sacramento, CA on December 30,1953. Alan married the love of his life, Sonia "Patty" Smith in Chula Vista, CA on July 12, 1974. Alan had a long career of 22 years as a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones Investments. Alan started his career with Edward Jones in El Cajon, CA building a successful business before relocating with his family to Prescott, AZ in 1989. He continued his passion for helping people reach their financial goals until his retirement in 2012. Alan is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sonia "Patty" Smith; son, Alan Carl Smith III (AC) of OK; mother, JoAnn Smith of CA; brother, Mike Smith of CA; Sisters, Julie (Terry) Weaverling of CA and Karen (Greg) Huskey of CA. He leaves behind 3 grandchildren, Abby Smith (AC), Jillian Maurer (Val and Mark) and Finn Smith (AC); 7 nieces, 4 nephews; 6 grand nieces and 3 grand nephews. Alan was predeceased by his father, Alan Carl Smith, SR., and his daughter, Valerie Maurer "Smith" A celebration of Alan's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations in memory of Alan can be made to National MS Society - Prescott AZ Chapter
