Alan Wood

Alan J Wood, 68, of Charleston, SC formerly of Ballwin, MO, husband of Clare Marie Wood (nee Fulton) passed away March 19, 2020 at his residence with his wife of 43 years by his side. Al was the son of the late Frederic and Ruth (nee Valade) Wood, Born October 18, 1951, in Cleveland, OH. He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1969. Along with his wife Clare, Al is survived by his 3 children: Brian Wood (Kathy) of St. Louis, MO, Todd Wood of O’Fallon, MO and Julie Mylin (Andrew) of Charleston, SC. He also leaves behind two girls that brought the most joy to his life; his granddaughters; Haley and Addyson. He is also survived by his 2 sisters; Joan Brown and Diane Huff (Don) as well as his Mother- In-Law; Doris Shackelton and In-Laws; Theresa Christensen (Keith), Steve Fulton (Elizabeth), Jackie Jones (Carl) and Eric Fulton as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Carol Bierman Wood, and his Brother-In-Law Mark Fulton. Al spent most of his professional years in toy retail management. He loved spending time with his family and being outdoors. While living in Ballwin he was an avid supporter of the B.P.O.E Lodge #2664 holding many offices during his 30 years as a member. A private ceremony will be held at a later date. Donations can be made in Alan’s name to your local Kidney Foundation.
