Albert Andrew Dill, 90, of Loveland, CO passed away March 5, 2011 in Loveland. Al was born September 4, 1920 to John and Anna Dill on a farm in Briggsdale, CO where he grew up. In 1938 Al left the farm and went to work for a ranch in Livermore, CO. As a ranch hand he drove cattle from Livermore over Dead Man Mountain through Red Feather Lakes. In 1942 Al was drafted into the United States Army. He served in the 1st Army 30th Division and was active on the D Day Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He also served with the 823rd Tank Destroyers and received the Bronze Star from General Patton as well as five Campaign Stars. While living in Livermore he met Viola Richart. They were married in Little Rock, AR in August of 1942. After their marriage they resided in Johnstown, CO until 1975 when they moved to Loveland. Al was employed by Loveland Ready Mix for 37 years. Al enjoyed spending time with family, camping, fishing, classic cars and was a "Washer Champion”. He was a member of Loveland VFW Post 41, Loveland Elks Lodge and the American Legion. He is survived by his sons, Allen (Arlis) Dill and Gary (Beth) Dill, all of Loveland; grandchildren, Lori (Chad) Brent, Jason (Erin) Dill, Kevin Simington, Ken (Maureen) Simington; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and all siblings. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 South Highway 287, Fort Collins, CO. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3333 Duffield, Loveland. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Memorial Contributions may be made to "”Veterans Administration” in care of Adamson Funeral and Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
