Albert James Taylor
December 12th, 1936 - July 26th, 2023
Albert James Taylor, 86, of Kernersville passed away on July 26, 2023 at River Landing at Sandy Ridge in Colfax. A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Fred and Mabel (Mauk) Taylor and husband of the late Nellie "Fay" Taylor. Albert and Fay met as children, became childhood sweethearts and married at the age of 16, where they began their life of adventure together. Their adventure included raising their four cherished children and were able to see and love their grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Albert worked as an Optician for 40 years and started his own business named Taylor Optical Company that operated for 25 years. He was a hard-working man who cared and provided for his family, working multiple jobs to support those he cherished. He was a self-made man and entrepreneur. Albert's survivors include his daughter, Cheryl Burnette; two sons, David (Chris) Taylor and wife, Melissa, Tim Taylor and wife, Janice; nine grandchildren, Bobbie Ann, Elizabeth, Keith, Christy, Johnathon, Kati, Greg, Olivia, and Lauren; seventeen great grandchildren, Keith, Chris, Chastity, Kayla, Abby, Isabelle, Dylan, Bryanna, Madyson, Leah, Rylan, Karah, Kaily, Natalie, Oakleigh, Nora, and Lucy; three great-great grandchildren, Kylo, and Brielle; daughter-in-law, Patricia Taylor, and sister-in-law, Sarah Moore and husband, Merl. In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his wife of 70 loving years; son, Bryant Taylor; two sisters, Lovella and Betty; two brothers, Fred and Bill; son-in-law, Mike Burnette; and a great-great grandchild, Kyler Wray. The family will receive friends at Pierce-Jefferson Lambeth Chapel on July 30, 2023 from 6:00PM-8:00PM. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on July 31, 2023 at Pierce-Jefferson Lambeth Chapel with Rev. Ricky Manring officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Park, Greensboro. His Pallbearers will be Tim Taylor, David Taylor, Johnathan Davis, Greg Burnette, Robert Gerber, Evan Smith, Chris Rozier and Rylan Burnette.
