Mementos

With deepest sorrow, we announce that Alexander Nicholas Aquino, born July 24th 1998 in Oklahoma City, age 21, our most beloved son, brother, family member and friend, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at his home with his mother. Those who knew Alex lost a shining light in their lives. Alex will be missed every day by his Mother, Christine Mirasol, his Father, Remigio (Jim) Aquino, his brothers Miguel, Peter, and Chris Aquino, his sisters Michelle Aquino Doucette, Hannah, Miranda, and Wrangler Aquino and his stepmothers Heather Horn and Jaime Aquino, grandparents Bob Imperial, Cristina Saenz and Tanya Aquino, his loving Aunts, Uncles, cousins and many, many great friends. Alex grew up in Las Vegas for most of his life and attended Bonanza High School. He started playing baseball at the age of 8 and his love for baseball continued throughout his life. He played for Red Rock Little League for 5 years and then went on to play club ball with the Diablos and the Ducks; he also played for Bonanza High School and slow pitch for the West Cliff Sizzlers. Alex loved visiting his second home, San Francisco, to see his Ninong Q, Tita May, Mason and Mimi. He was always there; it was an extremely important part of his life to be able to visit San Francisco as frequently as possible. Alex and Ninong Q shared a love of all sporting events, recreational activities, and most recently visited a tattoo convention together. Alex was a hard worker and he was last working for Platinum Carpet Cleaning with his good friend, Rich Ontiveros. Alex had an adventurous spirit; he enjoyed cliff jumping, hiking, raves, shooting at the range, and off-roading with his dad. He loved going out with his friends to drink beer, play pool, gamble, and watch sporting events at Westcliff Station. Alex will be remembered as a funny, outgoing, selfless, and thoughtful person. He had a great love for his family and enjoyed spending time with his sisters at the park and trying new restaurants with his mom and brother. He made a point of remembering birthdays and special family events with gifts. In fact, the last conversation he had with his brother Chris, involved what he was going to get his mothers for Mother’s Day. He was a hugger and it was important to him to tell others how much he loved them. Many appreciated his warm smile and friendly demeanor. A public celebration of life will be held Friday, May 15th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Kraft Sussman Funeral and Cremation Services, 3975 S. Durango Dr, Suite 104, Las Vegas, NV 89147
