Alex Grooms, 44, passed away on November 24, 2018. Alex was a graduate of Lexington High School and attended Midlands Technical College. Alex was a dedicated Gamecocks fan, loved watching football, enjoyed time with his family and time networking with friends. He will be missed. He is predeceased by his parents, Wayne Melvin and Precious Zurlo Grooms of West Columbia; his Grandparents, Melvin & Monica Grooms of Cross SC & Al & Kate Zurlo of Ellisdale NJ; and his Uncle David Grooms of Dorchester. He is survived by his Uncles, Michael (Diane) Grooms of Beaufort, Paul (Rebecca) Grooms of Aiken, Tony Grooms of Gilbert, Don Zurlo of Lexington & John Zurlo of Gilbert. Aunt, Patricia Grooms of Dorchester; and Cousins, Steven Zurlo of Lexington, Rachel (Roger) Beach of Clemson, Jason (Margie) Grooms of Louisburg NC, Adam (Bryce) Grooms & Aaron (Stasha) Grooms of Beaufort, Daniel Grooms of Cary NC, Cameron (Taylor) Grooms of Raleigh NC, Sr. Pat Millen OSF of Spokane WA and Eugene (Charlotte) Zurlo of Charleston; and Close friends, Carl & Elna Corwin of West Columbia and Nola Lawrence of Cayce. A private service is planned. Memorials may be made to Saint Jude’s Children Hospital.
