***REVISED SCHEDULE: Due to the Inclement weather for Saturday, January 29, 2022, the services will take place on SUNDAY, JANUARY 30, 2022. The visitation will take place, 12:00 - 1:00 PM at the Woodbury Presbyterian Church, 67 S. Broad Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096 with the Funeral Ceremony at 1:00 PM. Alfred K. Edwards, of West Deptford, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at the age of 79. Legacy Al was a third generation machinist and learned his trade from his grandfather and father, who started Alfred Edwards & Son's in 1926 in Philadelphia. The shop closed in the late 1980's but the legacy lived on with Al. He received his Associates Degree from Temple University and carried on the family tradition as a machinist for Accudyne Systems, Newark, DE and retired after 37 years. Some may say that Alfred was never sitting still. He had many interests, hobbies and passions in life. He truly loved every aspect of nature, be it boating, skiing, hunting, fishing or camping to name a few. Most of his outdoor excursions were spent with his loving family. Many memories were made while taking RV trips across North America (Quebec, Florida, Yellowstone, Pocono's). He also loved the Theater live performances, and of course, the Eagles. Al loved dogs and took his buddies traveling on trips. Alfred was a member of the William Penn-Harmony Lodge #52, Philadelphia, PA. He volunteered as a proud parent for the Boy Scouts and enjoyed setting up trains with his children. He found a special calling and became a Stephen Minster and was very active in his church. Family He is the beloved husband of 35 1/2 years to Joyce Edwards (Kershner); loving father of Stephen Edwards (Silvana), Denise Silvestri (Kris) and David Edwards and step-father of Colleen March (Ryan), Michael Fonash (Leah) and Darren Fonash; cherished grandfather of Jaclyn, Alyssa, Julianna, Nicholas, Brandon, Tyler & Mason.
