Alice Jean Bedford
April 5th, 1928 - May 3rd, 2023
Alice Jean Bedford passed away on May 3, 2023 at the age of 95. She was born on April 5, 1928 in Huggins, MO to Earl and Vivian Ritchey. Alice has lived the last 78 years here in Salinas. She worked for Smuckers for 28 years. She was a member of the Local Union 890 Teamsters and the American Legion Post #593 in Prunedale. Alice enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching TV, and spending time with all of her grandchildren. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Bedford, 2 older sisters and a brother. She leaves behind to cherish her memory son, Rev. Tim (Cherrie) Zemanek of Bakersfield, Ca; daughters, Patricia Worth of Salinas and Karen Kaberline of Oregon; Grandchildren, Stephen (Corina), Kymberly, Courtney (Brad), Thomas (Vanessa), Teresa, Jason, Jeremy, Khristy, and Kandice; as well as 19 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great Great Grandchildren; and her half sister, Ethel. Alice will be laid to rest with her husband at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
