Chicopee, MA - Alice I. (Briere) Bellerose passed away on August 18, 2024, at Holyoke Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born on July 5, 1926, in Chicopee, MA. She was the daughter of Adolphe and Blanche (Harnoise) Briere.  She was raised in Chicopee and, moved to South Hadley in 1985.  She moved to the Arbors in Chicopee in 2018.  Alice was a communicant of St. Anne's church in Fairview for most of her life. She became a communicant of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish when she moved to South Hadley.  

 

Alice was predeceased by her devoted husband, George Bellerose; her son, Thomas Bellerose; her sister, Della Martel; her brother, Adolphe Briere, and her son-in-law, Donald Boissonneault. 

 

Alice leaves behind a loving family, including her daughters Kathleen Boissonneault, Sally Bellerose (Cynthia Suopis), Jane Bellerose (Bruce Gaulin), and her daughter-in-law, Kathryn (Okalita) Bellerose. 

 

A cherished grandmother of ten, Alice is survived by Lisa Cunningham (Kevin), Andrea Pereira (Dan), Donna Boissonneault, Fay Roux (Kevin), Katie Boissonneault, Joseph Boissonneault, Brian Pelletier (Michelle), Cora Gaulin (Jack), Jacob Gaulin (Madeline), and Myles Gaulin (Nizar). Her legacy continues in her 11 great-grandchildren: Ryan, Julia, Adam, Matthew, Gabriella, Sydney, Marie, Joseph, Caroline, Karly and Kennedy. 

 

Alice nurtured and cared for her family, creating a household filled with love, warmth, and laughter. She was an avid bowler and golfer. She was great in mathematics into her later years. She enjoyed reading and playing bingo. She loved sewing and sharing her many skills with her family.  Her legacy of love remains in the hearts of those who loved her. 

 

Calling hours will be held at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  Family and friends may meet directly at St. Theresa of Lisieux Parish on Monday, Aug 26, at 11:00 AM for the Funeral Mass. Burial will follow at the Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 1:00 PM. 

 

Alice's family extends their deep gratitude to all who support them during this difficult time and ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her memory to the Holyoke Soldiers' Home.
