Alice Garrett

Alice Olivia (Johnson) Garrett was born April 15, 1912 to John & Oline Johnson in a farmhouse at Strathcona, MN. Seventh in a family of eight, she grew up and was educated in northern Minnesota. After graduating high school, she traveled west, met and married Arthur Eugene Garrett February 14, 1933 in Wenatchee, Washington. After years in construction they started farming and moved to Lake Lowell (Caldwell, ID) in 1956. Alice was active in the Caldwell and Nampa Senior Center, Good Sams. She and Art loved to dance. Alice continued to make her home at Lake Lowell until 2010 when she moved to Mesa, AZ. Alice passed away peacefully at the Sterling House in Mesa, AZ at the age of 100 yrs. She is survived by her son Arthur "Dean" (Bunny) Garrett (Tucson, AZ); daughter Diane Lenay Black (Mesa, AZ); Shirley Garrett (Dan), daughter-in-law (Nampa, ID); Brenda Garrett (Jerry), daughter in law (Yucca Valley, CA); 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 5 brothers, her husband "Art", and 2 sons, Gerald Gene "Jerry" (Virginia) and Dan Thomas Garrett. A memorial service will be at 3:00PM on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, 624 Cleveland Blvd, Caldwell, ID 83605. Donations may be made in her name to the Nampa Senior Center, 207 Constitution Way, Nampa, ID 83686. Service Information

Many changes have taken place over the years, including the addition of the Homedale Chapel in 1964. In 1984, Flahiff Chapels expanded its facility with the addition of Canyon and Owyhee County’s first crematory.
