All-States Cremation - Wheat Ridge
Alice Nutt
August 21st, 1937 - July 9th, 2018
Alice Ann Wahlstrom was born in Ada, Oklahoma on August 21, 1937. Traveling with her parents throughout the American Southwest because of her father’s employment in the oil industry, Alice eventually found herself enrolled in college at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado where she met her future husband, Ray Grieb. Marrying in 1960, Ray and Alice spread the good news of Jesus Christ through Ray’s ministry as an Episcopal priest. Throughout their time together, Alice had an interest in art, writing and education. Raising three children, Andrew, Glenn, Diana and numerous foster children, they eventually were divorced in 1982. Remarrying in 1986 to Keith Nutt, an Air Force Reserve Colonel and civil servant, Alice settled in Colorado Springs, where she was in the banking industry for a number of years until her health forced her to retire. In 1993, Alice was diagnosed with brain tumors. She underwent surgery to remove a tumor that threatened to cut off the blood supply to her brain at the University of Virginia. At that time, she and her family were advised that the other tumor was inoperable and that, at most, she might have been given only about twenty years of life. She grasped at this opportunity and lived life to its fullest from that time forward. Separating from her husband, Keith, and eventually being divorced from him, Alice went to live with her daughter, Diana, in Alamogordo, New Mexico until 2008. She then moved to Denver, Colorado to live with her son, Andrew, and his family. Eventually, the devastating illness that plagued her took her life, nearly twenty-five years to the day after her brain surgery. Alice went home to be with God, in His glory, on July 9, 2018. Alice is survived and will be missed by her sister, Kirsten Dettman of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, her first husband, Ray Grieb, her children, Andrew Grieb and his wife, Guangping Li, Glenn Grieb and Diana Richardson. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Memorial services are pending.
