Alice Gammon Thornburgh

THORNBURGH, Alice Gammon 99, of Tampa, Florida passed away Monday, February 05, 2018. She was born in Memphis, TN on April 24, 1918 and moved to Sarasota, FL in 1949 from Columbus, MS then to Tampa, FL in 1996. While living in Sarasota Alice was the manager of the catalog department for Sears and Roebuck and later a Trust Officer for Pan American Bank. Alice was a loving mother, an avid gardener, and loved to play bridge and tennis. She attended St. James United Methodist Church until she was 90 years old. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Preston Earl Thornburgh; 3 brothers, Paul Gammon, Edward Gammon and JC Gammon; 3 sisters, Margueritte MacGowan, Dorothy Wadley and Thelma Lou Graves. Alice is survived by her son, Bill Turner and his wife, Meg; daughters, Jan Rice and her husband, Bill, Margueritte Greenhalgh and her husband, Bob; brother, Sidney Gammon; grandchildren, Will Turner and his wife, Ivette, Shawna Sweney, Greg Sweney and his wife, Dana, John Rice and his wife, Jamie, Grant Rice, Kerriann Opp and her husband, Dan, Chelsey Greenhalgh, Harrison Greenhalgh; great-grandchildren, Will Turner, Cassidy Sweney, Carson Sweney, McKelvey Rice, Olivia Rice, Ryder Prep, Weston Greenhalgh, Ben Turner, Kayla Turner, Nolan Opp, Ridley Opp; great-great grandchildren, Max Turner, Milo Turner; caregiver and special friend, Cielo Cuello, her family and Maria and Sydal.
