Alison Pickard (Age 40) of Alexandria, Virginia, died at home on December 28, 2012. She is survived by one brother, Dean Pickard, and six non-biological sisters: Erin Davis, Melinda Gessel, Kelly Hart, Megan Kruse, Becky Podd, and Tina Opal Velt. The daughter of Bill and Christine, Ali was born and raised in Sugarland, Texas. She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority at the University of Florida, where she graduated in 1996 with a degree in Engineering. She worked as a Primary Patent Examiner for the US Patent and Trademark Office for over 14 years. A memorial service will be held at the Springfield Golf & Country Club on Friday, January 4th, at 12PM. In lieu of flowers, Ali asked for donations in her name to one of four charities: Free to Breathe, National Lung Cancer Partnership, American Cancer Society, or The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
