Allen Kingsley Baillif

Allen Kingsley Baillif 1931 - 2023 Allen Kingsley Baillif was born September 8, 1931, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Helen Veness Baillif and Clement Baillif. He and his older sister grew up in nearby Richfield. Allen served in the Army during the Korean War and afterwards met his future wife, Norine. They married and settled down in Prior Lake, Minnesota, living there for thirty years where they built their lakeshore dream home and raised a family. Allen had an aptitude for working with his hands, designing, and building. He designed and built houses, boats, furniture and more. He spent his career as an engineer in the high-tech industry. He’s the inventor on two patents issued in the mid-‘60s for memory reading/writing. Allen continued to work in memory storage technology up until his retirement. Afterwards, he and Norine moved to West Linn, Oregon where they enjoyed the milder climate and being closer to their daughter, son, and the son’s family. They found a welcoming home in the West Linn Lutheran Church where he and Norine participated together in various activities, including roles as hospitality ambassadors. Allen was easygoing, ever optimistic, and always had a kind word. He enjoyed family and friends, pursuing his interests, and sharing his discoveries. He peacefully left this world on January 18th at age 91. He is survived by his son Lee and his wife Karen and their son Conrad, and is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Virginia Bartlett, daughter Julie, and wife Norine. A celebration of Allen’s life will be held on Saturday, May 13th, at West Linn Lutheran Church, 20390 Willamette Drive, West Linn, Oregon.
