Allen Earl Hadwiger

October 14th, 1947 - August 16th, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Allen Earl Hadwiger, age 76, who passed away peacefully August 16, 2024 at the Collier Hospice Center of Wheat Ridge, CO after his nearly two year battle with prostate cancer.

Allen was born October 14, 1947 in Dalton, NE to Arthur G and Ida D (Ewert) Hadwiger. He grew up a Nebraska farm boy on a farm/ranch north of Bridgeport until he graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1965. He then moved to Denver, CO to attend Auto Mechanic School and worked at a Denver Car Dealership for 1 to 2 years. Then, he began a career in construction work; initially working with the L & J Construction Co. before creating 4X4 Inc, his own company in 1973, which he worked at until retirement.

As a younger man and father, Allen enjoyed boating and water skiing with his family but his favorite activity was coaching his three sons in football and watching them participate in all of their various sports and activities. Later in life he took great pride and joy in being Papa to his six adoring grandchildren. He was a fun loving, ornery man who was well known for telling stories, jokes, and teasing people. He had a big heart and would do just about anything for the people he loved. He also had a voracious sweet tooth with chocolate and ice cream being his very favorites!

He met the love of his life, Rose (Galon) Hadwiger in 2013 and they were married on May 18, 2014. They shared many fun adventures in the 10 years they were married.

Allen is survived by his wife, Rose of WheatRidge, his 3 sons, Scott (Kirsten) Hadwiger of Fayetteville, GA, Sean Hadwiger of Golden, CO and Beau Hadwiger of Arvada, CO. He also leaves behind his 6 grandchildren, Kellen, Jeremiah and Kenzie of Fayetteville, grandsons, Porter and Dawson of St. Augustine, FL and granddaughter Sawyer of Arvada, CO. Surviving siblings include Linda Lee of Overland Park, KS, Patsy (Kurt) Zahner of Gardner, KS and Cindy Hadwiger of Sunol, NE and sister-in-law Helen Hadwiger of Golden, CO along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr . Hadwiger was always jovial! A hard working successful contractor. He will be missed! The last time I saw Mr . Hadwiger was outside of church in Evergreen Colorado. Happy as always. My prayers and thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr. Hadwiger! Celebrate his life!
