Alma Elizabeth George
April 20th, 1921 - February 1st, 2008
"Springfield - Alma E. George, passed away February 1, 2008. Born April 20, 1921 in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lena (Reinhardt) George. Alma attended schools in Springfield and graduated from Cathedral High School. She was a longtime member of the Holy Cross parish on Plumtree Road. Alma was employed by the New England Telephone Company currently AT & T in Springfield for 45 years. She began as a telephone operator and later moved to the Plant department serving as secretary for the inside Foremen working with the cable men. She is survived by her "kid" brother Albert J. George and his wife Alberta of Wales and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. A Memorial Mass will be held on June 13 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Cross Church, 221 Plumtree Rd., Springfield. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Cross Parish c/o Sister Cindy, 221 Plumtree Rd., Springfield, MA"
