Aloise "Smith" Phillips

February 26th, 1928 - March 23rd, 2013

Aloise Phillips, 85, of Caldwell died Saturday, March 23, 2013 at home surrounded by family. She was born February 26, 1928 in Garland, Utah the second child of George and Helen Smith. She married Charles William “Bill” Phillips on June 19, 1946; she was a loving and creative mother to their five children: George, John, Lori, Bonnie, and Ron. Aloise was a long standing Jehovah’s Witness, baptized on October 1, 1955; zealous and active in her ministry up to her passing. She remained faithful to Our Loving Heavenly Father Jehovah throughout her sixty years of dedication, putting great faith in the words at Hebrews 6:10 “For God is not unrighteous so as to forget your work and the love you showed for his name.” Our thanks go out to all the family and friends from the many congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses throughout the valley and beyond that have been here, helped us, and offered up loving prayers. The friendship you have shown does not go unnoticed! And of course our thanks to all the generous people at Journey’s Hospice for their dedicated help and wonderful friendship throughout the last the seven years or so. They say that a person can be known by their fruits. One of Mother’s fruits was extraordinary kindness to people she didn’t know; I don’t believe she ever met a stranger. Her parties were legendary, her cakes memorable, her memory bears comforting, her kindness unforgettable. She will be a very hard act to follow. Mother loved flowers but preferred to have them while she was alive rather than after. Therefore anyone that would like to give flowers, we ask that you plant them in your yard and think of her when they bloom. If you like to make a donation in her name it can be directed to Caldwell Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses or Journey’s Hospice. Aloise was preceded in death by her husband, and son John. She is survived by her sister Edith, her remaining four children and their spouses, and 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 2:30 PM at the Kingdom Hall on Elm Street, Caldwell. Service Information

Bonnie Rae Mock

I would like to express my sincere thanks to my siblings; George, Lori and Ron for their compassion and enduring love during this time in our lives. Losing a parent is never an easy thing nor is it short lived grief. We have lost both of our parents and our brother John now and life will never be the same. But we have each other. Each person grieves in their own way, no two are the same, even within a family. We are coping with things as well as we can because we have each other. I love you all!
