Althea DiMarco
November 16th, 1926 - August 7th, 2016
DiMarco, Althea, 89, of Saint Petersburg, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016, at St. Anthony's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Pitcairn, PA, on November 16, 1926 to the late Harvey E. and Clemma (Bolinger) Jones. Althea is survived by her children, Diane Albin, Eileen Frederick, Susan Erlichman, Larry Bishop, Timothy Bishop, and Dante DiMarco; grandchildren Karen, Kimberly, Julie, George, Bridget, Benjamin, Lauren, Shiloh, and ten great grandchildren, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel DiMarco. Althea and Daniel lived in Pennsylvania until 1978 at which time they became Florida snowbirds, traveling to the Pitcairn home every summer. Throughout her life she attended church services every Sunday and continued to work part time for many years as a clerk at the local pharmacy in Saint Petersburg. She loved people and never met anyone that she didn't spend time getting to know as a friend. She absolutely loved music and attended many concerts with some of her younger generation friends. The best for her though, was hearing her sons sing and play the guitar. Her laughter and love of having a good time will be missed. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 13 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK Street, St. Petersburg. Althea will be laid to rest next to her husband in Sunnyside Cemetery.
