Alva "Al" A. Tracy
June 24th, 1936 - October 31st, 2017
Online Obituaries for Lexington, KY Alva Austin Tracy, 81, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Alva 'Al' was born June 24, 1936 to the late Austin Alva Tracy and Mary Linton Espinosa in Red Bluff, Tehama Co., CA. Al was the beloved husband of 33yrs to Patricia Tracy. In addition to his wife Pat, Al is survived by his children, Mark Guerin Tracy, of Tampa, FL and Kristina Lynn Tracy of San Francisco, CA. Al is the eldest of his two surviving brothers, Will Tracy and Jim Tracy who live in CA. Al enlisted in the US Air Force Jan 7, 1955, during the Korean War and served 4 years as a Staff Sargent, and 4 additional years in the Reserves. Al was the Great Grandmaster of Kenpo Karate and co-founder of Tracy's International Studios of Self Defense. Over the course of his life, Al was not only a masterful instructor of Kenpo; but his students, colleagues and friends traveled from all over the world to learn from one of the greatest martial artists of our time. Al's deep passion for the Martial Arts inspired all who knew him. Our hearts are broken but we are so thankful for the loving husband, father, brother, teacher and friend we had. His spirit and his fight will always be in our hearts. Funeral Information A memorial will be scheduled in California at the end of Feb 2018.
