November 23rd, 1951 - July 30th, 2014
Alvin Wilcox Banks fought a brave battle and succumbed to heart failure on July 30, 2014. The eldest of five, he was born November 23, 1951 in Butler, Alabama to Rudolph Wilcox and Dorothy Mae Winston. A longtime resident of Seattle, he attended Garfield H.S., Class of 1970, and was loved by many. He is survived by his children Denise, David, Cookie, and Darnell, five grandchildren, Brothers Donald, Hosea, Joel and Sister Deborah. Music was his life’s passion and will forever be remembered as a gifted musician and singer. Funeral services will be held at Greater Mt. Baker Baptist Church, 2425 South Jackson Street, Seattle, Washington 98144 on Saturday, September 20th at 11:00 am. A Memorial will be held at Salmon Bay Eagles, 5216 - 20th Ave NW Seattle, Washington 98107 on Sunday, September 28th at 2:00 pm.
