Alyssa Gardella, 17, passed away July 13, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00AM Monday July 17, 2017 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church at 2715 Horsepen Creek Road in Greensboro. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service at the church fellowship hall. Alyssa was born February 24, 2000 in Jamestown to Allison Elkins and Greg Gardella who survive. Always a perfectionist, she was a gifted student, which led to her selection as a student of Early College at Guilford College. While making straight A’s, she graduated Valedictorian at the end of her junior year, this past May from Middle College in Greensboro. Alyssa was to begin her college at NC State University in the fall. One of her goals was to be a bestselling author, and there is no doubt the world is going to miss the great novels she had inside. Alyssa had worked for Lowe’s Foods in Oak Ridge for the past year. She enjoyed softball and also played the clarinet. Alyssa was the happiest and most relaxed when she was at the beach. As she crossed the bridge to Atlantic Beach with her family, or her MawMaw and cousins, was her special time. She could walk along the water’s edge for hours and always would come back invigorated and ready for the challenge of her busy life. Survivors include her parents Allison and Greg Gardella of the home; siblings Madison Hamm and husband Andrew, Hannah, Nicholas, Zachary, and Lucas; maternal grandparents Nancy and John Elkins of Greensboro; paternal grandmother Emma Gardella of Michigan; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather William Gardella. Friends and family may sign, and view the guestbook at www.Pierce-JeffersonFuneralService.com Service Information
