Amelia "Ame" Jane Hitchcock

Amelia Jane Hitchcock, “Ame”, 59, passed away on August 28, 2024 at home. 

Ame was born on April 14, 1965, in Havre de Grace, Maryland. A was known for her sweet, caring, and helpful nature, embodying the essence of a loving mother and grandmother and the best friend anyone could wish for. She was also a loving Dog Mom to Boo (RIP) and Nova.

Ame is survived by a warm and loving family, including her children Sam Austin, Johnny Austin (Valerie), David Hitchcock; daughter Sally Smith (Carlisle); (preceded by Sam Austin Sr) siblings; Katherine, Barbara, Tommy (Sharon), Raymond, and brother-in-law Jack; Grandchildren Lexi (Cameron), Izzy, Austin, Brittnei, Kayleigh, Logan, Levi, Holly, Amiyah, Ben, Skylar, Nathan, Sam III,  and Drayton. Great Grandchildren Oliver, Anastasia, and Kaiden.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Gullion, significant other Dale Jeffcoat, sisters Kimberly, Debbie, Connie, and Gwendolyn.  

She had very good friends until her last days including Sherea, Netty, and Lance.

Throughout her life, Ame found joy in simple pleasures. She loved things such as wrestling (WWE), Coca Cola, and her favorite color was purple. She was an avid enthusiast of the lottery, had a profound love for plants, and enjoyed bird watching, which allowed her to connect with nature and find peace.

Services to honor Ame's life will be held  on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 12:00 noon at Faith Baptist Church 123 Faith Church Road Swansea, SC 29160.
