Our Dear Mother has left us, and has gone to meet with God. Our Grandmother, sister, and friend is now rejoicing and resting in her heavenly home. After a short illness, she passed away on December 13, 2009 at the age of 81. Born February 4, 1928 in Socorro, Texas, she came with her family to California and for a period of 45 years, she solely and tenderly nurtured and raised her children. She is survived by daughters Anna Maria (Jose) Montero of Salinas Zulema (Ronaldo) Zuniga of El Paso, Texas Leticia (Xavier) Gonzales of Salinas Sylvia Gonzales of Salinas sons Jorge (Carolina) Gonzales of Salinas Armando (Rafaela) Gonzales of Salinas Fernando (Maria Teresa) Gonzales of El Paso, Texas 32 grandchildren 37 great-grandchildren 6 great-greatgrandchildren sisters Lorenza Vasquez of Riverside Dolores Rivas of Salinas along with numerous nieces and nephews preceded in death by husband Jose Cruz son Jose Cruz, Jr. 2 brothers and 1 sister Our Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend is now in her heavenly home. May God keep her in the hollow of his hands. "We love you, Mom".

At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
