Andrew Michael Cassidy, 70, of Punta Gorda, Fl unexpectedly passed away Friday, September 30 , 2022. Born in The Bronx, NY he lived in New Jersey for many years before retiring to Punta Gorda Fl. After 20 tears with the Exhibition Employees Union, Local 829, New York, NY. Andy was a friend of Bill W for over 40 years. His love for the NY Yankees is legendary having grown up just down the street from Yankee Stadium, and of course the NY Giants. He was an amazing husband, brother, father, and Poppy, with a wonderful sense of humor, smiling Irish eyes and an infectious smile. He will be missed by many. Andrew was predeceased by his parents, Anne Marie (Sullivan) Divadi and Michael Cassidy. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon (Smith) Cassidy of Punta Gorda, daughters, Dawn Blake (Dennis) of Atlanta, GA, Christine Rodriguez (Ernie) of Neptune NJ, and stepson Michael Bottrill (Scott) of New York, NY, brother, Thomas Cassidy of Pine Island NY, sisters, Anita Greene of Petaluma CA, and Suzanne Divadi (Rick DelSordo) of Spring Lake, NJ, grandchildren, Brianna Mimi, Luis Antonio (Tito), Vanessa and great-granddaughters, Londyn and Willow as well as a host of nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs, Willie and Sidney. Per his wishes, the family will have a memorial service at a later date.
