Andy A. Hernandez of Tucson, AZ passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 18, 2024
Andy was born on November 30, 1944, to Maria and Anastasio Hernandez. He was the only son of four children: Rosie Hernandez, Francis Hernandez, and Amilia Baker.
Andy is survived by his wife Linda and two sons, Sam and Mark, granddaughter Brianna, grandson Cory, and great-grandson Aiden.
He met his wife Linda at Arizona Western College i Yuma. They moved to Tucson while Andy attended the U. of A. They were married on October 28, 1966, in Tucson.
They moved back to Yuma to build their lives and family. While in Yuma, Andy helped start a volunteer fire department: Tri-State Rural Fire Department which later became Rural Metro Fire Department.
Andy was very active in the Yuma Jaycees holding several offices and was Chairman of the Military Rodeo.
Andy and family moved to Tucson in 1984 and retired from M3 Engineering in 2010.
He was very active with the Southern Arizona Mustang Club (SAMC). He planned trips to
flagstaff and San Diego for car shows and many other trips with the club.
Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, June 9th at St. Augustine Cathedral Square Center Event Room at 192-25 S. Stone Avenue, Tucson.
