Beers and Story - Belchertown
Angel Burgos
March 14th, 1959 - June 27th, 2024
Angel Burgos, age 65, passed away peacefully at Baystate Medical Center.
Angel was born on March 14th, 1959, in Springfield, MA to Cruz Olivera and Angel M. Burgos. He graduated from Putnam Vocational High School (1978) and went on to work as an electrician for Collins Electric. He was a proud member of IBEW Local 7.
To his wife, Barbara, and his two sons, Alex and Nick - he was a beloved husband and father. Angel exemplified what it meant to dedicate one’s life to the betterment of others. Always fighting for the ‘underdog’. He was a quiet man; always direct, and thoughtful. Angel believed that with hard work, you could make anything happen. This translated not only to his job as an electrician, but through his unabated support of countless swimmers of the Belchertown community, cheering every athlete with a booming voice that could be heard from any depth.
He was a man of few hobbies, solely devoted to the care of his family. However, a bit of this was portioned out for the coterie of New England Sports Teams. He was a fan of the Patriots before it was in fashion.
Angel is survived by his wife, Barbara (Fay) Burgos, His son Alexander Burgos and fiance, Olivia Ferdon, from Connecticut. His son Nicholas Burgos and wife Rachel Burgos and grandson, Finn Burgos, from Belchertown. Angel is also survived by his mother, Cruz Olivera; His sister Elisabeth Kranz, and sister Susan Mohs, and her husband Jon Mohs from Florida. He is also survived by his sister Doris Cochran and her husband Michael Cochran from Plymouth, MA. He is also survived by his close brothers-in-law Thomas and Robert Fay of Springfield, sister-in-law Nancy Joanides and her husband Charles of NY
