ANGELA FRANCES REMIS, 90, of Port Charlotte, died Monday, May 20, 2013 at Harbor Chase ALF in Venice, FL. Born on September 12, 1922 in Lawrence, Massachusetts she had been a resident of Charlotte County for twenty-three years coming from Westport, MA. Mrs. Remis received her BS degree in 1954 from Boston University School of Nursing and was a Cadet Nurse during World War II. A registered nurse prior to her retirement; she was a member of the Lawrence Nurses Association and a communicant of St. Raphael Church. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Paul in 2009. Survivors include one daughter: Mary (James) Grikas of Colts Neck, NJ; one son: Matthew P. Remis of Pt. Charlotte, FL; and two grandsons: Brandon and Tyler Grikas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 6 PM until 8 PM at the Englewood Community Funeral Home, 3070 South McCall Road. Funeral Mass will be said on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 10 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 5265 Placida Road. Burial will follow at Sarasota National VA Cemetery at 1 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Loveland Center, 157 Havana Road, Venice, FL 34292 in memory of Mrs. Remis. You may share a memory with the family at www.englewoodfh.com
