Anita Rose Anderson
October 9th, 1954 - March 8th, 2024
Anita Rose (Tschohl) Anderson crossed over just before sunrise on March 8th in Fort Collins, Colorado, under Pathways Hospice Care. Anita bravely battled constant pain for the most of her life, facing each day with strength and resilience. Despite the many challenges she faced, she was a source of inspiration to all that knew her, always demonstrating courage in the face of adversity.
Anita was born on October 9, 1954 to Robert and Paula Tschohl in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Growing up in the 50’s, many hours were spent roller-skating, bike riding and constantly being outdoors. Anita’s love of the outdoors led her to Colorado in her early 20’s. She was featured in the Vail Daily newspaper for being the first female maintenance technician for Vail Associates.
After her accident, Anita made her home in Fort Collins, Colorado. In 1991, she earned her B.S. in Occupational Therapy at Colorado State University. She spent many years helping others improve their ability to preform everyday activities and tasks because she had the experience of being in a similar situation.
On March 2nd, 2014, Anita married the love of her life, Terry Anderson. Anita’s family embraced Terry as one of their own and are so grateful for the tender care and love he provided her. One of Anita’s greatest traits was the loyalty she showed to her family and many friends. When she loved you, you knew you were loved! She exhibited remarkable generosity and it touched the lives of many.
Anita was a beautiful woman inside and out and she possessed a charm that turned heads wherever she went.
There were many things that brought her a sense of joy; a cold glass of Pinot grigio, her beloved dogs, family and friends, a good laugh, chocolate and her travelling adventures. If Anita tasted something she liked, she'd say she had a party in her mouth.
Anita is survived by her husband Terry Anderson of Fort Collins; bonus daughter Angela Patarino (Alec) of Grand Junction, CO; sister Barbara Tschohl (Ron Kassner) of Edgerton, Wisconsin; brother Paul Tschohl (Nico Strange Owl) of Fort Collins, CO, niece Jenna Muehlenberg (Andrew) of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; nephew Chad Lanoway (Katie) of Stoughton, Wisconsin; and Brandon and Austin Tschohl of Fort Collins as well as grandchildren Wesley Paschall of Fort Collins and Mallory and Oliver Patarino of Grand Junction.
Anita was an auxiliary member of the VFW Post 1781. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Paula Tschohl and brothers John and William Tschohl.
Anita said “Stick with me to get good parking.” We are sure she has a good parking spot in Heaven.
