All-States Cremation - Wheat Ridge
Anita Hartman
August 2nd, 1923 - June 8th, 2017
June 8th, 2017 Anita Viola Hartman passed away at 8:30 PM while living at Sunrise Assisted Living in Westminster, Colorado. Anita was 93 years old. Anita was born in Walsenburg Colorado August 2nd, 1923 to Arthur Miles Zipprodt and Mary Ruth Stoddard Zipprodt. Her family, including sister Elaine, lived in Walsenburg Colorado, later moving to Alamosa Colorado where Anita lived most of her life, excluding her college years. She left Alamosa to attend Colorado State University where she met the love of her life, and married Clifford J Hartman, a returning WWII veteran. They were married June 16th 1945 at the home of her parents in Alamosa. Cliff and Anita moved, after college, back to Alamosa where Cliff went to work with her father Art Zipprodt. There Anita raised two children Sharyl Elaine Bossen and Clifford “Skeet” Hartman. She led a very full life in Alamosa as a member of the Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, and a Rotary Ann. These groups, plus kids, and a very busy social life kept her occupied until the kids left home. Due to her love of reading, she then bought what became The Bookmark Bookstore that she moved to a location on Main Street and ran until her retirement. Meanwhile, Cliff and her dad sold the family business in 1974, and Cliff took a job as a commercial loan officer with the 1st National bank of Alamosa, eventually becoming president of the bank. Along with him being Mayor and involved in many other civic pursuits with Anita at his side they were a very busy couple. Together she and Cliff remained in Alamosa while wintering in Sun City Arizona, until 2000, when they sold their longtime home and moved to Westminster Colorado where they could be near their son and daughter in law, and closer to their daughter who lived in Colorado Springs. They remained at Sunrise Assisted Living where Cliff passed in 2006, and Anita continued to live there until her death in 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford, her sister Elaine, and her daughter Sharyl. Anita is survived by her son and his wife, her four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
