Anita C Heger, 91, died June 23 at her residence in St. Petersburg, FL. She was a lifelong resident of Bethel Park and the Pittsburgh area until she and her late husband, James Heger, moved to St. Petersburg 4 years ago. Anita, the eldest daughter of Albert and Regina Yunker, was born August 21, 1920 in McKees Rocks, PA, where she attended elementary and high school and earned a BA in Home Economics from Mount Mercy College, (now Carlow College). Married for 64 years to her college sweetheart, James, they reared 5 children in Bethel Park. She dedicated her life to family, homemaking and church activities that included St. Thomas More Altar Society, Christian Family Movement, and Ladies of Charity. Always a fervent Pirates and Steelers fan, she was also an avid and highly competitive tennis and bridge partner to friends and family. Anita is survived by 5 children: Jeanne Parker (Tom) of Bethesda, MD, Dr. James Heger (Anne) of Fort Wayne, IN, Mary Jo Heger of St Petersburg, FL, Christine Cahn (Gary) of Bethesda, MD and Sally Norris (Mark) of Prior Lake, MN. Anita also is survived by 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three sisters: Marion Jackson of Philadelphia PA, Claire Pandl (Joe) of Crafton, PA and Nancy Isler (Ralph) of Knoxville TN. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Bethlehem Haven, Fifth Avenue Commons, 905 Watson St., Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
