Mrs. Ann Delores Gordon, age 85, of Gloversville, passed away suddenly on Wednesday August 12,2020 at her home with her a beloved daughter Julie by her side. She was born December 27, 1934 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Vincenzo (James) and Julia DeSantis DiMezza. Ann attended St. Marys Hospital School of Nursing in Amsterdam N.Y. She graduated January 28, 1957 as a registered nurse. She went on to become the head nurse of maternity at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville for many years. Ann is survived by children Julie Strouse-Mendetta and John Strouse, step children Carolyn and Mitch Gordon, sibilings Marie Schutz and Vincent DiMezza, grandchildren Ashley Cerasia, Nicholas Waller, Bryan Strouse, Brandon Strouse, Breanna Strouse, Stephanie Strouse, great grandchildren Avé Marie and Lilliana Cerasia and many nieces and nephews. In addition to both of her parents she was predeceased by her husband Rabbi Martin Gordon, a sister Gloria Snyder and a grandson Kristopher Strouse. Ann was a beautiful person inside and out, touching the lives of everyone she knew. She and her husband Rabbi Gordon opened their home and hearts to all. Compassionate and loving, she was the backbone of her family. Bringing everyone together and cooking a delicious meal always brought her so much joy. In her younger years, she spent her summers camping in the Adirondacks. Wells and Benson always held a special place in her heart. She found so much peace listening to the river and sitting around the campfire with her family. She also loved vacationing in Myrtle Beach SC. where she spent all of her time at the beach. Above all the greatest joys in her life were her twin great granddaughters Avé Marie and Lilliana Cerasia; and oh, how they loved her. She loved watching them grow. Even at her age, she played, danced, sang, laughed and gave them more love than you can imagine. Every day she made sure to call her babies and tell them how much she loved them. She will forever be missed but will live on in the hearts of those she held dear. A graveside service took place at 2:30 pm, Friday August 14, 2020 at Knesseth Israel Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; www.stjude.org/donate. Arrangements are entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
