" Ann M. (Corley) Guenette, 69, of Alvord Place, was called to the Lord after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, on December 31, 2003 and is now reunited with her husband of 48 years, Wilbur C. “Spike” Guenette who died on Jaunuary 3, 2002. Born in Holyoke, April 30, 1934, Ann was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Gorman) Corley and grew up in Holyoke, a graduate of Holy Rosary School. Ann and her late husband made their home in Granby for 40 years, before she relocated to South Hadley in 2002. She worked for many years at the Hickory Ridge Country Club in Amherst. A deeply religious and spiritual person, Ann was a devoted communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Granby, giving of herself to the church both as a Eucharistic Minister and CCD teacher for many years. She also volunteered her time to Catholic Charities. Her warm and generous spirit was evident to all who met Ann, and all were captured by her caring nature. She will be deeply missed by her six devoted children, Stephen of Granby, Thomas and Bruce of Holyoke, Margaret “Peggy” Cadieux with whom she lived, Patrick of Belchertown, and Mary Cormier of Ludlow, along with her 7 cherished grandchildren, Marybeth Leclaire, Lisa, Thomas, Matthew, Ian, Jessica, and Shawn Guenette. Ann is also survived by five sisters, Sister Mary Corley, SSJ of Holyoke, Kathleen Gauthier of South Hadley, Teresa Giardina of Pittsfield, Margaret Ritchie of Waterford, CT, and Agnes Ford of Michigan. She was predeceased by five brothers, Kevin, Patrick, Michael, John, and James Corley. Funeral services will be Monday at 7:45 a.m. from the Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St, (Rte. 116), followed by a funeral mass at 9:00 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. A burial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in Mass. Veteran’s Cemetery in Agawam. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. The family asks that donations be made in Ann’s memory to Hospice Life Care, 28 Appleton St, Holyoke, 01040. "
