Ann Renell Hovey (nee Hunter) passed away peacefully in her home on October 5th, 2020, at the age of 87 shortly after being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She was born on May 19th, 1933, in Harford, Kentucky, to George and Irene Hunter. No services are planned. Ann moved to San Francisco, California, in 1962 and loved the area so much she stayed in the Bay Area until 2002, when she officially retired in 2002 from her nursing role at the Marin County Jail. She loved her job and in particular her colleagues, who fondly remember her as “Nurse Annabelle.” She moved to Paradise, California after her retirement to be near her daughter, Meghan Anderson and granddaughter, Tamsin Markey. Ann will be best remembered for her kindness and generosity to family and friends and for her love of cats. She went out of her way to care for others both in her personal life and in her professional life. Her greatest loves that she cherished and cared for were her daughter, granddaughter, and her beloved cats she cared for over the years. She was also known for helping numerous other family members and friends throughout her life.
