Dr. Ann Huycke passed away January 14th, 2023 in Boise, ID. She is survived by her daughter Aruna, who lost a best friend that day, and by four brothers and a sister. Ann was born in Kansas City, KS, in 1954 to Mary Ann and Edward James Huycke. She earned her MD from the Kansas University Medical Center in 1980 and continued her medical training in KS and elsewhere. She married Jeff League in 1985. She traveled the world, including to India, New Zealand, and Europe and practiced medicine at an US Army base in Japan. She also studied the martial art of Aikido most of her adult life and achieved a first degree blackbelt in Tokyo, before returning to the US in 1990. Her medical practice in the US combined ideals from traditional and alternative medicine. From 1990 until 1999, she practiced medicine in MO. From 1999 through 2019, she provided medical care to the Treasure Valley area of Idaho, where she helped her patients using a Naturopathic approach. Her clinic, Metta Health Care, was the first clinic in Boise to introduce breast thermography for early cancer detection. Ann was a confident and curious spirit, a listening ear, a wonderful mother, and an advocate for what she believed in. She is dearly missed.

Accent Funeral Home

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
