Ann Marie Kovach

Kovach, Ann Marie 78, of St. Petersburg, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 9, 2012. Born in Buffalo, NY, she came here in 1969. She graduated from D'Youville College with her Bachelor's degree in Education, further studies at the University of Buffalo, and received her Masters from The University of South Florida. Ann retired after 27 years teaching from Lakewood High School. She was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church. She sang in the church choir and many operas while in New York as well as at Ruth Eckerd Hall and The Bayfront Center. She served as president and vice-president of The Lower Pinellas Deanery, president of St. Raphael's Guild, president of The St. Petersburg DCCW, and worked in the church office for 16 years among many other services at St. Raphael's. She is survived by her children Michael Kovach (Marian), Michele Von Rautenkranz (Rene), Sharon Allbritton (Steven); grandchildren Caitlin, Shaina, Zachary, Hary. There will be a memorial mass at a later date at St. Raphael's Catholic Church. Memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Raphael's Catholic Church. There will be a memorial service on Wednesday July 18, 2012 at 10:30am at St. Raphael's Catholic Church with interment to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
