Ann Marie LaFreniere

Hampden- Ann Marie (Laizer) LaFreniere, 59, passed away August 25, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Holyoke on August 31, 1962, daughter of Casimir and Alice (Scytkowski) Laizer. Ann Marie grew up in South Hadley and lived in Hampden for many years. Ann Marie was dedicated to her community in Hampden, volunteering at the Green Meadows Elementary School library when the school was not provided with a librarian. Ann Marie was very proud of her contribution, alongside nearly 100 other volunteers, to save the Hampden Town Library when it was closed due to budget shortfalls in 2005. Her love of the beach and camping trips always involved time with her family, Ann Marie's greatest joy. In 2020, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert. Ann Marie will be missed by her children Alex, Alicia (Nate), and Rocky and her beloved grandson Declan LaFreniere-McMahon. Ann Marie was the youngest of seven children and is survived by her brother, Leonard Laizer and sister, Linda Tolpa. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home.
