October 15th, 1947 - April 21st, 2007
" Ann M. (Couture) Pierce, 59, of Bach Lane died Saturday with her loving family by her side. Born on October 15, 1947 in Holyoke, MA. She was the daughter of the late Edmond P. and Florence A. (Guilbault) Couture. Ann was raised in Granby and graduated from Granby High School. She has lived in South Hadley since 1984. She retired in 2006 as the head cook for Granby School System after 28 years of service. Ann also dedicated 28 years of service to the Granby Council on Aging managing the senior meal site program. She also participated in many town functions. She enjoyed playing bingo and trips to the casino, as well as shopping with her granddaughters. She is survived by her daughter Dawn Bruneault and her husband Craig of Ludlow and grandchildren children Alyson and Brooke. She also leave eight brothers and sisters Ernest Couture with whom she lived for many years, Theresa Beaulieu and husband Norman of Westfield, Rena Ducharme and husband Lawrence of Granby, Rose Phoenix and husband Edward of S. Hadley, Pauline Gerken and husband Kenneth of TX, Francis Couture and wife Susanne of Fl, Linda Couture, her caregiver for the past year and a half, of Belchertown, and Diane Nutting and husband Jonathan of Ware. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Two brothers Robert and Leonard Couture predeceased her. Friends and family may gather at the Beers & Story S. Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St., (Rte 116) on Thursday by 10:00 to process to a mass in St. Stanislaus Church in Chicopee to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 2:00 –4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. For those wishing, donations may be made in her memory to Colorectal Cancer Coalition 4301 Connecticut Ave., NW Suite 404 Washington DC 20008 or VNA/Hospice Cooley Dickinson 168 Industrial Dr. Northampton, MA 01060."
