Anna Alexander -Rizziello "Nanny", 97, of Wallins Corners Apartments in Amsterdam, NY, passed away on March 1, 2012 at the Mountain Valley Hospice House in Gloversville, NY. She was born in Amsterdam, NY on April 20, 1914, the daughter of the late Samuel & Concetta Riano. Anna volunteered for many years at Wee Care Playcare where she acted as a surrogate grandmother, giving freely of her love and boundless energy to the children. She was also very devoted to her family, and lived her life with grace, courage and optimism. Anna is survived by her loving daughters Delores Rizziello and Carol Carl Jaworski of Amsterdam; grandchildren, John Xin Bardacino of Las Vegas, NV, Kimberlee Pacheco, Lisa Julian and Michael Mary Jaworski of Amsterdam; great granddaughter Jessica Dr. Christopher Tomaselli and her beloved great great grandson Daniel George Tomaselli of Schenectady. Also surviving are her sisters, Eleanor Brooker, Angela Ferlazzo, Rita Loucks and Virginia Anthony Penge of Amsterdam; Teresa Triolla of Poughkeepsie and Mary DeLegge of Florida. A Brother James Riano and many nieces and nephews also survive. Anna was predeceased by her husband of fifty years, Thomas Rizziello and also by her husband of five years, Julius Alexander. Family and friends are invited to join a prayer service in celebration of Anna's beautiful life on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 6 PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam NY 12010. Fr. Brian List will officiate. Calling hours will precede the Prayer Service beginning at 4 PM at the funeral home. Private burial will take place in Mt. Carmel Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anna's memory may be made to the Mountain Valley Hospice House, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville NY 12078 or to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville NY 12211.
