Anna Elizabeth Turl Ewald came to a peaceful ending at 5:30 a.m. on 5/14/2016, in the loving comfort of her son, Neal Ewald, daughter, Jo Ann Allen, and son-in-law Jon Allen. She had a wonderful 95 years filled with many adventures, including working as a phone operator and plane spotter during World War II, teaching herself electronics repair, traveling, camping, fishing, running a television and radio repair business (Pete and Ann’s) in Coalinga and Santa Cruz. After retiring from the business, she worked repairing vacuum cleaners, selling donuts, volunteering at the Senior Center calling Bingo, and helping out her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren when ever and where ever she could. She traveled with her lovely group of lady friends multiple times throughout the United States, Europe, England, The Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, South America and the Panama Canal. She had a rich and wonderful life with her friends and family. My brother and I are forever grateful for all that she did to help us and our children be the successful people we are today. She was preceded in death by her loving husband John Fredrick “Pete” Ewald; step-daughter Juanita Ewald Overman; daughter-in-law Wendy Steinkemp Ewald; grandson-in-law Kevin Simpson; two sisters and four brothers – all together again in God’s grace.
