Anna M. Francis, 98, of Caldwell, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013. Anna was born February 23, 1915 at the home of her parents, John Bernard and Anna Leonora Steanson-Fullbright, in Moray, Kansas. She moved with her family from Kansas to Idaho in August of 1933. They landed in Notus and rented a house just one door down from the Francis Family. It didn’t take Walt Francis long to notice the beautiful “new girl” in town. Love blossomed quickly and they married just four months later on December 2, 1933 and to this union, Betty Lee Francis-Denson was born. The family eventually settled in Caldwell. Anna worked for Crookham Seed Co. and did income taxes and bookkeeping for Max Lewellyn Real Estate Company. For a time, she was also the Deputy City Clerk for the city of Caldwell and then worked for First Federal Savings where she retired after 23 years. The “Du Nuthin Ranch” is a cabin in the Secesh Meadows above McCall that Anna and Walt, with the help of Walt’s brother Cecil Francis, built in 1968. That cabin was their pride and joy and they spent as much time there as they could fishing, hunting and doing anything but “nuthin”. Walter died in 1985; they were married for fifty-two years. Anna had many interests which included her love of the Mariners. She kept her own score books on each and every game which ultimately got her the recognition of being “Idaho’s Biggest Fan” in 2011 with her picture being displayed on TV. Other interests included sixty years of bowling, gardening, searching for morel mushrooms, genealogy and the trips she took to Jackpot, Nevada to name a few. Anna celebrated her 98th birthday in Jackpot attending a Paul Revere and the Raiders concert and staying up later than the youngsters. Thanks to St Alphonsus Hospice and our dear friend Jan Blood who is so loving and supportive and to all of the Rostock folks. Anna’s family is richly blessed with endless information about her life, her family’s lives, the cabin, and her trips to her birthplace and Norway in the journals and autobiography that she wrote. Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her siblings, John Norman Fullbright, Marquerite Marie Wykert, and James Rollin Fullbright. Anna is survived by her daughter, Betty Lee Francis-Denson; grandchildren, Mark Steven (Linda) Lawson, Caldwell, Vicki Ann Lawson, Caldwell, Joseph Craig Denson, Caldwell, Cheryl Denson, California, Joyce (Don) Parcel, California, Danielle (Greg) Stewart, Meridian; Great-grandchildren, Kyle Wade Lawson, Dane Conner Lawson, Regan Christine Lawson, Kaytlan Runge, Taylor Stewart; Great-great-grandchild, Jaxson Runge. Also surviving, nephews, Steve Fullbright (Marge), Utah; Kenneth (Carolyn) Hensley, California; niece, Virginia Foley, California; sister-in-law, Jacque Fullbright, Boise. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 13, 2013, 11:00AM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell with viewing one hour prior to service.
