Anna Elizabeth Ross

of Arlington, Virginia died peacefully on February 15, 2018 at 17 years of age. Anna was born on April 2, 2000 in Moscow, Russia and is the beautiful daughter of proud parents Emily and Jon Ross, and the supportive sister of Charlotte, Nathaniel, Jonathan, and Alexander Ross. Anna was a hardworking 12th grade student and was to receive an Advanced Diploma from Yorktown High School in June, 2018. A dedicated gymnast for 12 years, Anna was delighted to be a Captain of the Diamond team for the Arlington Aerials. Anna enjoyed volunteering as a Camp Counselor for Arlington Parks & Recreation for several summers, with church outreach activities, and in her high school’s front office. Anna was recently accepted into several Medical Science programs at universities both in Europe and the United States, so she could fulfill her life-long dream to become a medical researcher. Anna especially loved traveling with her family through Europe and to her grandparents’ cottage on Owasco Lake, photography, birds, creating flower arrangements, listening to music, and spending time with her friends and family. Anna was a source of positivity, compassion, and love to her family, friends, and all those she came into contact with. Anna is survived by her maternal grandmother Elizabeth Voorhees, sister-in-law Meagan Ross, niece Allison, nephews Elijah, Robert, Noah, Benjamin, Joseph, and Matthew, aunts Elizabeth Cunniffe, Robin Ross, and Sue Voorhees, uncles Jim Voorhees and Dennis Cunniffe, and cousins Erin, Katherine, Carolyn, and McKenna. Anna was preceded in death by maternal grandfather James Voorhees and paternal grandparents Robert and Garnetta Ross. A Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm at Advent Funeral Services, 7211 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia. Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 2:00pm at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 2609 North Glebe Road, Arlington, followed by a reception.
