Anna Marie Upton

Anna Upton, age 49, passed away August 20, 2014 at Oroville Hospital with her family at her side. Anna was born December 14, 1964 to Donna and the late Bennett Goodeill Sr. of Sutter, California. Anna has one brother Bennett Goodeill Jr. of Sutter. Anna had lived in the Yuba-Sutter area for most of her life, with the exception of 4 years where she and her family lived in Kona, Hawaii. Anna worked for Winco Foods in Yuba City for 19 years as a clerk. Anna enjoyed being in the outdoors and grew up deer hunting with her father, a tradition that she passed on to her own children and made many memories of hunting and camping trips. She also enjoyed going on family vacations to Fort Bragg, California. Her last trip there was this past 4th of July. She was able to see her granddaughter's first time to the ocean. Anna loved her children and grandchildren and would have done anything for them. Recently her children wrote a few words about her and all three of them said the same thing, "Mom always put everyone else before herself" and those same words have been echoed from so many others in the recent days since her passing. Anna was looking forward to watching her youngest son's first high school football game at Sutter Union High School alongside her husband of 16 years, Robert Upton. Anna is survived by her mother, Donna Goodeill, her brother Bennett Goodeill Jr., her husband Robert Upton, her three children, Cody Upton, Kandis Irby, and Walter Sampley Jr. and her two grandchildren, Drake and McKinley Sampley. She is predeceased by her father Bennett Goodeill Sr. Anna was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to so many. She was a beautiful person with an amazing heart, one that will not be soon forgotten. She has touched the lives of so many and we are all so thankful to have had her in our lives. A viewing will be held Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City from 4pm- 7pm. A Graveside service will be held at the Live Oak Cemetery on Friday August 29, 2014 at 2pm. A reception will be held at 7393 Lyon Street in Sutter following the grave side services.
